Meet Rachel Lyon

As the Digital Ads Lead Strategist at Coalmarch, Rachel’s role focuses on strengthening client performance and elevating the strategic impact of the Digital Ads team. She partners closely with both clients and team members—diving deep into performance data, troubleshooting challenges, and guiding innovative advertising strategies that drive measurable results. Beyond client work, Rachel dedicates much of her time to coaching the team, leading trainings, and sharing best practices to help the entire department grow stronger together.

Rachel began her Coalmarch journey in 2020 as a Digital Advertising Analyst and has steadily advanced through leadership roles, building expertise across various forms of digital advertising. Her passion lies in empowering her teammates, fostering collaboration, and helping clients achieve lasting success through thoughtful, data-driven digital strategies.

When Rachel’s not at the office, you’ll likely find her grabbing an oat milk cortado (or, if she’s in the mood for tea, a London Fog!) at her old stomping grounds, Jubala Coffee. She’s always up for an outdoor adventure, whether that’s strolling around Raleigh’s local lakes, having a picnic at Dorothea Dix Park, or even taking a spontaneous day trip to catch the sunrise in Wilmington, NC.

Rachel also loves exploring Raleigh’s restaurant scene with friends or taking a stroll at the North Carolina Museum of Art. While she might not have a green thumb, she enjoys visiting the NC State Farmers Market for fresh flowers and greens to add a little life to her home!

What's something you've learned in your career that sticks with you?

I've learned that change is the only constant in digital advertising — especially in Google’s world, where we’re all just living in it! Staying curious, adaptable, and comfortable with the unknown has become one of my biggest strengths. 

What part of your job do you enjoy the most?

What I enjoy most is the people — both my teammates and my clients! I’m a huge people person, and I really thrive when I have strong relationships, open communication, and those solid connections that make the work feel meaningful.

What's a hobby or interest you love outside of work?

Outside of work, I love trying new things! I’m always checking out a new restaurant or coffee shop around Raleigh. I think that curiosity carries over into my career too; in an industry where Google is constantly changing, embracing something new is exciting!
